Happy 26 weeks! Little Acorn is behaving himself quite nicely and seems perfectly content to continue baking for a bit longer (he has also decided to take up kickboxing and gymnastics which is a bit less than pleasant, but he seems to respond to his Dad asking him to calm down every now and then). It is amazing and crazy to think how different things are today versus when we checked in at 22 weeks and 4 days. According to the various research, Acorn originally had a 2-15% survival rate. His survival rate is now as high as 85%! Apparently preemies girls tend to have better odds than boys, but at least we have his larger size in our favor.
In addition to celebrating 26 weeks, we also tackled Black Friday and Christmas decorations. Noah very successfully found a pack and play (of course I was on the middle of my normal Friday monitoring and attached to a small army of wires and machines, which meant I couldn't respond as quickly as Noah wanted. It was very interesting to see my blood pressure and Acorn's blood pressure rise as we tried to decide which pack and play we wanted within the 2 minutes time limit). I had to take a nap to recover from that activity!
Here are a few pictures of our holiday cheer. Please note the awesome bows my mom made by hand!
God is answering prayers! So excited that you are at 26 weeks. Have a great weekend, Jess and Noah!
